What to Prepare for ESTA
Before you begin your ESTA application, it’s important to gather all the necessary information and documents to avoid delays or mistakes. ESTA is an electronic travel authorization, so everything is completed online. Having the right details ready will make the process quick and stress-free.

Valid Passport
You need a valid passport from a Visa Waiver Program country, such as the Czech Republic. The passport must be an e-passport with a digital chip and machine-readable zone. It should be valid for your entire stay in the United States. If your passport expires soon, consider renewing it before applying for ESTA.
Personal and Travel Information
Be prepared to enter your full name, date of birth, contact details, and emergency contact. While travel plans are not always required, it helps to have your U.S. address and flight details on hand. This is especially useful if you’re planning to stay with friends or at a hotel. You may also be asked about previous visits to the U.S. or other countries.

Payment Method
The ESTA application requires a processing fee. You’ll need a valid credit card, debit card, or accepted digital payment method to complete the process. The application cannot be submitted without payment. Make sure the card you use is authorized for international transactions if you’re paying from outside the U.S.
Time and Accuracy
Set aside about 15–20 minutes to complete the form without distractions. Accuracy is essential — mistakes can lead to delays or even denial. Double-check your passport number, birthdate, and other key information before submitting. It’s best to apply at least 72 hours before your departure.

Keep a Copy
After submission, you’ll receive an email with your ESTA status. Even though it’s linked to your passport electronically, keep a copy of the confirmation with you during your trip. It may be helpful when checking in at the airport or during border control procedures.
